Margate
The children in Year 6 have reached their final year of primary school. This year, they will consolidate and develop all their learning throughout their school journey. This will be the year when children fine tune their independent and collaborative learning skills.
Our children will have opportunities to be responsible Rabbits and take on responsibilities such as advocates, Maths/English ambassadors or House captains.
Our teacher is Mrs Little. Our TA is Mrs Deans.

Term 1
Smoothies
Our Y6 Learning Lift Off commenced with the class working as groups to make a nutritious smoothie. They had to describe the health benefits to Mrs Thompson, who was lucky enough to sample each one of the children's concoctions! The children enjoyed trying these too and had some interesting mixes - ask them to make you a healthy smoothie at home.
Term 2
Year 6 kicked off their learning on WW1 with a study around Remembrance. We have created beautiful pieces of artwork and clay poppies in differing colours.
This week, we had a visit to Hawthorne Trenches. It was a fantastic morning and the children got to experience life in a replica of a WW1 trench, which was cramped, damp and muddy.

Next week begins with our trip to Dover's War Memorial, which is always a very poignant experience.
Year 6 visited Dover's war memorial to commemorate Remembrance Day and the Head Girl and Head Boy read the poem, 'In Flanders Field'. We also wrote descriptive poems about WW1.
During PSHE lessons, we have been thinking about people's views of the afterlife.
In art, we have started to draw war horses.
