Walmer

We are a happy and respectful class who love learning and working together. We are responsible rabbits and take care of each other and our environment. In our learning, we love exploring our new topics and learning new vocabulary. We show that we are motivated monkeys in our learning and courageous cats taking risks with new challenges.

Our teacher is Miss Brisley and our TA is Mrs Cawood-Heath

Term 1

We have been learning all about The Romans this term! We went and visited the Roman painted house and had a great time! We learnt loads of new facts and even got to see some of the original painted house that archaeologists discovered!

Term 2

In topic we have been learning all about circuits. We started learning how to create a simple circuit and then we added in buzzers and switched into our circuits. We learnt what the job roles were for both of these in a circuit. We have enjoyed making the circuits and making lots of noise with the buzzers!

Electrical game fun!

Over the last few weeks we have been looking at how we could make an electrical game and packaging that would be exciting for other children to play. We used our knowledge on how to make a circuit and incorporated that into our games.

Term 3

This term we are looking at ‘Awesome Egyptians’. We have looked at the process of mummification and have looked at this process using tomatoes. We scooped the seeds out and pretended they were organs and followed each step in the process. We have got 2 weeks to see what happens to the tomatoes.

We know that the organs went into canopic jars. Each canopic jar had a specific organ go into it. We have started making our own canopic jars. First, we started by wrapping pringle tubes with newspaper and PVA glue to make the bottom of the jars. Then we have started to use clay to make the jar heads.

We also have some amazing photos of home learning coming through! Look at this Sphinx that has been made from Lego! Well done!
