The Deal Class is full of happy, energetic and enthusiastic learners. We enjoy learning through practical, creative and fun activities. We work hard and always strive to do our best. Year 1 have made a wonderful start to the school year and have settled into their new routines with confidence and enthusiasm. From the moment they arrived, they have embraced new challenges with a positive attitude, demonstrating our school values of Happiness and Motivation every day. It has been a pleasure to see so many smiling faces, new friendships forming and children growing in independence.

This term, our learning has centred around the topic "Me, Myself and I". The children have enjoyed exploring what makes them unique, sharing information about their families, interests and experiences. Through creative activities, discussions and artwork, they are developing a greater understanding of themselves and others. 

In Mathematics, the children have been developing their number knowledge by learning about greater than, less than and equal to. They have used practical resources and mathematical reasoning to compare numbers and explain their thinking. The children have approached their learning with determination and resilience, showing great motivation as they build their confidence and understanding.

We are incredibly proud of how well the children have settled into Year 1. Their happiness, eagerness to learn and positive attitudes have helped them make a fantastic start, and we look forward to seeing all they will achieve throughout the year.
