Curriculum Overview

At St Martin’s School we follow the National Curriculum to provide a broad, balanced education for all the children in our care. Our pupils learn through a topic-based approach, which is enhanced though trips and visits, outdoor learning, visitors and guest speakers.  In this way learning is given real-life relevance which is stimulating and engaging. A varied teaching approach is adopted – whole class, group or individual which may be ability or mixed-ability grouped. Through our curriculum, we encourage and support our pupils to be independent, motivated learners who are critical and creative thinkers equipping them as life-long learners who achieve to their full potential.
