SEN Information for Parents
At St Martin’s School, we recognise the importance of supporting all children to achieve their full potential – emotionally, socially, physically and academically. We strive for inclusion, providing all children access to a broad and balanced curriculum where they can participate fully in all activities, irrespective of ability, disabilities, race, gender, ethnicity or social origin.
Kent also provide a range of services available which are called the local offer. These services are available by accessing the Kent website. Kent's local offer is all about making it easier for people to find out about services available to 0-25 year-olds with special educational needs and disabilities:

The admission arrangements for pupils without an Education, Health and Care Plan do not discriminate against or disadvantage disabled children or those with special educational needs.
Our SEND policy can be found at the bottom of this page.

In addition, our Family Liason Officer, Juliet White, works very closely with our Inclusion Team:

If you would like to discuss your child’s Special Educational Needs, please contact the school office and make an appointment with a member of the inclusion team.
As a school we can access a range of services and multidisciplinary professionals through the LIFT (Local Inclusion Forum Team) process.
Nurture UK/Boxall
The Nurture UK/Boxall approach is a supportive way of understanding and responding to children’s social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Using the Boxall Profile—a simple, structured assessment—teachers can identify areas where a child may need extra nurturing, such as confidence, communication, or managing feelings. The approach helps schools create warm, predictable environments and tailor support so children feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. For parents, this means the school is working closely with you to ensure your child’s emotional wellbeing is at the heart of their learning and development.
